I am officially on the hunt for an NYC apartment.
Aaand I'm searching... from California. How is this going to work?
I posted a lovely ad on Craig's List and have already gotten back three replies. Woo! There is one in particular that I would literally move into tomorrow if I had the chance, but the rent is more expensive than the other two people who have emailed me. But it's Upper East Side, I mean c'mon people! That is precisely what I wanted. Or do I? If you are reading this (you especially, Ben!) let me know where the best places to live in Manhattan are. I am not really interested in Brooklyn although I know it's a nice place to live, I stayed there for a month a couple summers back. I am looking for straight-up Manhattan, so if you have any tips (keep in mind I am a musical theater student who would love to be closer to where it all happens), please feel free to share your wisdom with me.
Although I find all of this rather exciting, my mother is not very happy with the situation. I completely understand why, but I can't help but still be angry with her. That's the eternal mother-daughter struggle, I suppose.
Life is coming at me fast and I've gotta be quick on my feet or good-bye, New York!
